The first meeting in the network was held in Oslo, Norway, on 17–18 January 2008. Participants included 1–2 representatives from each of the network countries that were able to come; observers from the World Health Organization, the European Commission, the United Nations Standing Committee on Nutrition, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and invited speakers/advisers.
There have been six meetings in the network since the network was established:
